Democrats’ Latest Anti-Trump Conspiracy Gets Flipped Upside Down

The lead Secret Service agent that was in charge of President Trump’s protection on Jan. 6 will reportedly testify that former Pres. Trump didn’t attempt to commandeer his SUV during the riots, contradicting Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony.

Peter Alexander from NBC News, who is the furthest thing from a Trump supporter, tweeted the news, saying that a close source to the Secret Service claims that agent Bobby Engel will soon testify.

“A source that is close to the Secret Service has told me that both Bobby Engel, the top agent, and the presidential SUV/limousine driver are ready to testify under oath that Trump didn’t assault anyone and that Mr. Trump never attempted to seize the wheel,” he wrote on Twitter.

If the report is correct, and Bobby Engel’s testimony holds up, it will be a devastating blow to the Jan. 6 committee, whose start witness on Tuesday, Cassidy Hutchinson, stated that former Pres. Trump attempted to commandeer the presidential SUV during the Jan. 6 riot and became near violent when Bobby Engel attempted to stop him. According to Hutchinson, she heard about it from Tony Ornato, WH deputy chief of staff.

“I saw the head of President Trump’s security staff sitting in a chair, seeming somewhat perplexed and confused,” Hutchinson said during her testimony. “I looked at Tony; he said, ‘Did you hear what had happened in the Beast?’ I said no and asked him what had occurred.”

“Tony informed me that when the Trump got into the Beast, he thought they were going to the Capitol because Mr. Meadows had stated that off-the-record travel to the Capitol was still feasible and likely to occur, but that Bobby had additional information. The president believed they were driving up to the Capitol after entering the vehicle with Bobby. And when Robert told him we are not going to the Capital; we don’t have enough assets; it isn’t safe; we’re going back to the West Wing, he responded rather violently.”

According to Hutchinson, Trump went on to say, “I am the effing president. Bring me up to the Capitol now.”

When Bobby Engel allegedly informed Trump that they were returning to the White House, Hutchinson claimed the former president have become “borderline aggressive.” Hutchinson stated:

“The president had reached towards the vehicle’s front wheel in an attempt to grab the wheel. Mr. Engel grabbed his arm and remarked, “Sir, you need to remove your hand from the steering wheel; we are going back to the White House rather than heading for Capitol Hill.” Mr. Trump then lunged at Bobby Engel with his free hand.”

The news of Engel’s testimony will follow after January 6. Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), a member of the House Judiciary Committee, said on CNN that Cassidy Hutchinson’s comments were “essentially a smoking gun.”

Nicole Sganga of CBS News said that both President Trump’s driver and Bobby Engel would contradict Hutchinson’s claim:

Shimon Prokupecz of CNN also said that a Secret Service official familiar with the case stated that Tony Ornato claims he did not tell Cassidy Hutchinson that Trump attempted to grab the wheel. The following statement was also released by the Secret Service:

“The U.S. Secret Service has been actively cooperating with the Jan. 6 Select Committee since it started in spring of 2021, and will continue cooperating, including by replying on the record to the Committee regarding these new allegations raised during today’s appearance.”
