Sen. Elizabeth Warren, in true Warren fashion, has wasted no time accusing President-elect Trump of “breaking the law” over a transition ethics pledge she says he hasn’t signed yet. According to Warren, Trump is ignoring an ethics agreement mandated by the Presidential Transition Act, a law that she claims to know inside and out because she had a hand in writing it. If that isn’t a classic Elizabeth Warren humblebrag, what is?
Donald Trump and his transition team are already breaking the law.
I would know because I wrote the law.
Incoming presidents are required to prevent conflicts of interest and sign an ethics agreement.
This is what illegal corruption looks like. https://t.co/JJjJ59DgB5

Here’s the kicker: CNN reported that Trump’s team hasn’t yet signed this pledge, which is required for the transition process with the Biden administration. But let’s get real. Trump’s priority isn’t bending over backward to appease red-tape-loving bureaucrats; his team’s focus is on assembling a powerhouse Cabinet that puts America first. It’s hardly surprising that Trump’s advisers don’t seem too fussed over missing the so-called “deadlines,” which they brushed off as “not at all a concern.” It’s almost as if they know what they’re doing.
Naturally, Warren and friends are up in arms. The same people who couldn’t spot real corruption if it were staring them in the face are now claiming that not signing a document on their timeline is a “threat to national security.” And Democrat Rep. Jamie Raskin chimed in with a letter to Trump and VP-elect J.D. Vance, begging them to sign an MOU with the General Services Administration. Raskin seems convinced that without this document, chaos will reign, agencies will flounder, and—heaven forbid—our national security could be at risk.
In Raskin’s words, “Without these MOUs in place, federal agencies are unlikely to be able to securely and effectively communicate with your staff, which will endanger ‘the orderly transfer of the executive power’ and threaten our national security.” Talk about melodrama. Because, honestly, this is the same party that told us an open border is no big deal but wants us to believe a missed deadline on a bureaucratic agreement is a national crisis.
Meanwhile, Trump’s team has stated they intend to sign the ethics pledge. In other words, they’re handling it, but on their terms—not on the Democrats’ manufactured timetable. When it comes down to it, these accusations are nothing but a last-ditch attempt by the left to throw mud at Trump as he prepares to take office and dismantle the endless cycle of bureaucratic red tape that Democrats love so much.
Let’s be real: the left has been in a tailspin since Election Day. They’ll try any narrative, no matter how desperate, to distract from the real work Trump’s team is doing. As always, while Democrats play in the sandbox of petty grievances, Trump’s focusing on what matters—getting America back on track.
