Leftist Leader Advocates For Destruction Of Republican Cities

Yale psychiatrist and frequent Trump critic Bandy X. Lee suggested that American cities where the president’s support is the greatest should be bombed into oblivion.

Lee, who has diagnosed President Trump with a mental health illness from afar and has made a number of highly controversial statements regarding the president in the past, evoked the Allies’ destruction of Dresden, Germany, in World War II, noting that it may take similar destroying U.S. cities to break Trump’s “spell” on Americans.

“A reporter whose grandparents were refugees from Nazi Germany related to me: ‘I cannot help but remember a conversation I had with my grandfather … about the firebombing of Dresden, whether he thought the Allies should be reproached for targeting civilians,’” the Yale School of Medicine’s Law and Psychiatry Division academic wrote on Twitter.

“He said—I remember this well—that it was a necessity because nothing short of the sight of SEEING THEIR CITIES LEVELED would have broken the spell. The German public, he said, was not open to reason. They could not be persuaded to abandon Hitler,” she added.

“Needless to say, we are seeing the same phenomenon here, and every day that Donald Trump has exposure to the public, he spellbinds his followers ever more deeply, as mental health experts are precisely the ones banned from comment,” she noted further.

Chris Menahan at Information Liberation noted in response, “This is what the leaders of ‘The Resistance’ are fantasizing about if Trump loses – subjecting his supporters to Soviet-style show trials, Truth and Reconciliation commissions and Dresden 2.0!”

In another Monday Twitter post, Lee appeared to sing the praises of Nazi Germany’s murderous leader.

“Donald Trump is not Adolf Hitler,” she began. “At least Hitler improved the daily life of his followers, had discipline, and required more of himself to gain the respect of his followers. Even with the same pathology, there are varying degrees of competence.”

Lee frequently appears on cable outlets like CNN and MSNBC as an expert.

In addition to the president, whom she has never personally examined, Lee has claimed in the past that Trump’s supporters are also mentally unstable, WND reported.

“What people need to understand about many of his followers is that in their need for a parental figure who will take care of them, his position alone justifies whatever he does, and any exposure of his fraudulence and criminality will be experienced as an existential threat to them, which is why it only activates defensive denial, disavowal and protection of their ‘protector,’” she said.

“Violence, paranoia and delusions are also particularly contagious, and so having someone with these symptoms in an influential position is almost a setup for propagation of these traits — what I have been calling ‘shared psychosis’ but which others have also called ‘folie à millions,’ or madness by the millions,” she added. “This contagion of symptoms dissipates when exposure to the primary person is reduced. We already saw this happen when he was temporarily unable to hold rallies at the onset of the pandemic.”

Lee has never publicly provided a similar analysis of Democratic rival Joe Biden despite his history of mental errors and gaffes throughout his 2020 candidacy.
