The Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund (LELDF) put out a new study showing that murders have reached a new 26-year record.
The study shows a direct connection between the Democrat’s anti-police comments and how Progressive-led cities have transformed words into action using police budget cuts, mandates that lower policing and arrests, less prosecutions by far-left prosecutors, and issues coming from the damaged morale that have led to a large number of retirements within law enforcement.
“This information proves that in the places where police had the highest resistance from elected leaders and saw the most calls for less police action, we witnessed greater homicides., LELDF President Jason Johnson said.
“Liberal prosecutors made sure that arrests for weapons crimes and drugs will not be prosecuted and they expose officers to the possibility of lawsuits, disciplinary action, and even criminal prosecution., Johnson continued. “So, to deal with that risk, police had a more passive approach.”
Even in cities such as Austin, which has normally been seen as a safe place, has witnessed large increases in homicides from 2019 to 2020.
Liberal cities have gone to greater lengths to become centers of social chaos. Their agendas on gun control and their anger towards police, have changed cities into safe spaces for crime.
