Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Chris Wright wasted no time in his new role, unveiling a secretarial order Wednesday aimed at obliterating Biden’s radical green agenda and returning America to “energy dominance.”
The sweeping order focuses on slashing energy costs, ramping up domestic energy production, and dismantling burdensome regulations put in place by the Biden administration. “To compete globally, we must expand energy production and reduce energy costs for American families and businesses,” the DOE press release stated.
Bringing Back Affordability
Under Biden, the DOE waged war on consumer choice, pushing extreme efficiency standards for everyday appliances like gas stoves and water heaters. Wright’s order mandates a full review of the agency’s Appliance Standards Program to end Biden’s regulatory stranglehold on American households.
Ending The Biden Blackouts
Biden’s obsession with radical climate policies put America’s power grid on the brink of disaster. His administration pushed crippling emissions standards on U.S. power plants in April 2024, with grid operators warning that rolling blackouts were imminent. Now, Wright has pledged to “strengthen reliability and security” of America’s power supply by reversing Biden’s reckless policies.
Rebuilding America’s Reserves
Biden’s energy mismanagement gutted the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), draining 180 million barrels before the 2022 midterms to artificially lower gas prices. Trump’s DOE now plans to restore the reserve while expanding nuclear energy development to ensure long-term energy independence.
The administration is also fully reversing Biden’s disastrous liquefied natural gas (LNG) pause, an anti-energy stunt Biden pulled in January 2024 to appease climate activists. Trump ended that pause on Jan. 21, immediately restoring the U.S. as a global energy leader.
Biden’s EV Pipe Dream is Done For
Biden’s electric vehicle (EV) fantasy crashed and burned due to low consumer demand, lack of charging stations, and sky-high costs. His administration’s plan to build 500,000 EV chargers by 2030 has been riddled with delays and failures. Now, with Republicans eyeing major cuts to Biden’s climate spending, green energy lobbyists are scrambling to save their taxpayer-funded cash cow.
Trump’s Energy Comeback Is Just Beginning
Trump has already begun rolling back Biden’s radical fuel economy mandates, ensuring Americans can drive the cars they want without government interference. On his first day back in office, Trump signed an executive order to “unleash” American energy, protecting both economic and military security.
While Biden’s failed climate agenda left higher costs, energy shortages, and an overreliance on China, Trump’s administration is restoring common sense, slashing regulations, and ensuring America never bows to foreign energy dependence again.
