GOP members in the State Assembly in Wisconsin have passed a resolution allowing an investigation into the 2020 election.
According to reports this week, the measure gives the state’s Elections Committee the ability to subpoena witness testimony and records related to the controversial election.
The comes after the same committee forced an audit into the election. The state assembly had previously held two hearings on the election results, but did not invite election officials to provide testimony.
“This is important because over the last year or so we have heard accusations of certain improprieties,” said state Republican Rep. Joe Sanfelippo. “In particular, certain state laws being broken.”
Wisconsin was hit with controversy when a sudden spike in votes for Biden were recorded in the early morning hours after election night. This surge put Biden into the lead over Trump with the state going to the Democrat.
